World Understanding Month

 

Today February 25 - Our speaker is Lucy Daggett, Prinicpal at Del Amigo School.

Tomorrow February 26 - Old and New Board Meetings - 5 pm at Mike Burton's office.

Six Club Meeting - Key Note Speaker Brian Shul, Air Force Pilot and Survivor, gave an inspirational and fascinating presentation about rising from a deathbed to fly the world's fastest plane.

Eddie Roodveldt - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rotarian Eddie Roodveldt, Past President of the Moraga Rotary Club and Passionate leader of our District Youth Exchange program for many years.  Eddie had been battling cancer. Memorial Service Sunday, Feb. 24th at 2 p.m. at the St. Mary's College Chapel. 

February 11- BK Crocker gave a fascinating presentation on university admission standards in our competitive nation.

Red Badge for Jim Crocker - Jim and his wife BK are 21 year residents of Danville. Please join us in welcoming Jim to the club.

District ConferenceApril 24 to 26

  • Thursday April 24 is a recreation day - golf tournament in the afternoon, a Hold'em Poker Tournament in the evening. Players must be registered at the conference.
  • April 24 Friday night activity is a prospector themed western barbecue with hospitality provided by the clubs as in past years. Everyone will enjoy this casual event.
  • April 25 The entertainment at the Saturday night dinner will be Mumbo Gumbo, a musical group that defies easy description. "Ask the members of Mumbo Gumbo what they call the music they've been developing for 16 years, and you're likely to get blank stares, confusion, and eventually, laughter.”
  • Register for the event, then come and go as your time and interest dictates.

International Grant Update - Our joint grant application with Lafayette, Fairfield Suisun, and Walnut Creek is now at RI for approval. This grant purchases a jaws of life and sets up a training facility for nurses in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Sunday March 9 or Tuesday March 11- Rotary Goes to the Symphony. Lesher Center. $39 to $59 seats available. Benefits Music in the Schools Program. See Pres Lori to participate.

Saturday May 17 MultiClub Fundraiser - Hold'em Poker Tournament. $100 buy in. Non-players $20 admission. Pleasant Hill 4 to 10. Pres Lori would like to see 10 entries. See Mike Burton to sign up.

Gold Nugget Drawing - Prospector Bob Brown struck gold. This week the prize is $25.00
