Our July theme is Service to Country.

Monday July 7 - Pres Bob takes the podium for 2008-2009. Mike Conklin will speak on the Sentinals of Freedom.

Reminder - Members are encouraged to pay by check or by invoice remittance to cut down work at the desk. Front desk volunteers are reminded that the desk is a key job. It is important to be there as promised, and on time.

Camp Royal - Three students who recently attended this leadership camp were on hand to tell us about their experiences. All speak highly of the program.

Demotion Party - Two Gun Calamity Lori didn't go away peacefully, but order is once again restored in Yrator. Special thanks to Producer, Playwright and Director Albert Rubey and set Designer Mike Burton. Note to Rotarians of Yrator: Don't quit your day jobs.

RI Presidential Citation for Danville Rotary -

District Governor Stan Smalley stopped by on Monday and presented the club this award. The International President sets out a list of goals at the beginning of each Rotary year. Clubs achieving all the goals receive the award. Of 66 clubs in the District, 18 received citations. All five clubs in the San Ramon Valley received citations. Congratulations to all!

 

Get Well Soon Tom Ohlson - Tom is now home recuperating from surgery to remove part of a lung. Pres Lori is sending flowers on behalf of the club and will have a card for all of us to sign on Monday.

2008 Speaker Chair Jim Crocker - Please give your speaker recommendations to Jim.

District Conference Oct 23-25 in Concord this year - That's less than four months away, and close enough to home that every Danville Rotarian should be able to attend some part of it without an overnight stay. Reservation form can be found at the District website, and there will be a copy of the back of the July 7 printed bulletin. Fifteen percent discount for signing up by August 31.

Gold Nugget Drawing - Chuck Bloch found the treasure. Pres Bob starts the new Rotary year with $25 in the pot.

July 14 - Michael Gleysteen Special Agent, ATF.

July 21 - DG Jim Campbell. DG Jim will meet with with the incoming Board at 11:00 at the Brass Door prior to the regular meeting.
